Flowering NOW was created by Melanie Stapleton and Katie Marx as a project where Melbourne’s flower community could come together. Sharing their love of nature in ways that defy traditional understandings of floristry. With no competitive aspect, free from commercial demands and briefs. Our drive is to create community and foster a supportive and inclusive flowering scene. Melbourne is home to some of Australia’s most talented and innovative florists and Flowering NOW creates a platform to showcase our unique styles with the wilder public and celebrate our amazing industry.

Our First Flowering NOW was held at what is now Collingwood Yards and attracted over 3000 guests over 3 days.

This work speaks to the grounded and cumbersome as well and the chaotic and whimsical. Capturing the moments of growth and abundance and celebrating the imperfect and crude. A mound of gravel rises from a messy grassy meadow. Pomegranates tumble amongst spiky rose plants and flower trolleys.
